An Announcement for ONR Team Members
We are excited to announce that ONR is becoming part of EmpowerMe Wellness, a St. Louis-based integrated healthcare provider serving senior living communities across the country.

This partnership will allow our newly combined company to create career opportunities for our team members and expand the reach of our shared mission, giving us the opportunity to improve the lives of over 100,000 seniors across 36 states and counting!

ONR will continue to operate under its current name in many senior living communities and facilities. However, in the coming months, our programs will be rebranded as EmpowerMe Wellness in some locations.

Your Job and Your Benefits

Will my role change when ONR joins EmpowerMe Wellness?

Your immediate day-to-day function will not change. We value the role of each ONR employee, and we will be retaining all of ONR’s current leaders and team members.

Will my work location change?

No. Team members will continue to work in the same communities, facilities, or office locations they do now.

Will my pay or benefits change?

No. Your compensation will not be impacted as a result of this partnership. Plus, in the coming months, our new combined company will offer a number of options for advanced training and promotion to help ONR team members increase their earning potential.

Your payroll cycle will stay the same at least through the end of the year; further details on this will be forthcoming. All scheduled PTO will be honored.

Will my supervisor stay the same?

We will be retaining all of ONR’s current leaders and team members. As we integrate our two companies and implement new opportunities for promotion and career growth, there will be some exciting updates to our leadership structure.

Details on how we will integrate ONR and EmpowerMe leadership teams will be announced over the next two weeks.

Will my seniority be honored?

Yes, your years of seniority will be honored under the new partnership.

What changes can we expect for the 401(k) program?

ONR employees will be transitioned over to EmpowerMe’s 401(k) sometime after December 31, 2022. More details on this will be coming in the months ahead. In the meantime, you will experience no changes in your ONR 401(k) plan.

Who is EmpowerMe Wellness?

EmpowerMe Wellness is a tech-enabled, integrated healthcare provider that serves senior living communities across the country. Based in St. Louis, EmpowerMe is very similar to ONR, in that they are driven by a mission to improve the lives of seniors.

In addition to therapy services, they also provide diagnostic lab testing, pharmacy, and care coordination services, which they will be able to offer to ONR communities and facilities as well.

What is the culture like at EmpowerMe?

One of the main reasons EmpowerMe is a great fit for us is the similarity in our cultures. Both our companies are singularly focused on improving healthcare for seniors.

We have some overlap in the kinds of services we offer, but each company also has unique strengths, which is why this partnership will make our combined company even stronger.

Will EmpowerMe provide IT support?

The process of integrating our two companies’ systems will take time. We will merge our Information Technology departments to ensure excellent service for all our team members, but no timeline for this has been set. For now, please continue to make use of current IT processes; you will be informed well in advance of any changes.

Will the name of the company change?

We will continue to operate as ONR at many of our locations. However, starting this fall, some locations and their teams will transition to operate under the EmpowerMe brand to make it easier to share resources and staffing among our field teams.

When a location makes this transition, all team members will be retained and provided with training on EmpowerMe’s systems and processes, which are similar to the way we do things today.

Will EmpowerMe provide HR support?

The process of integrating our two companies’ systems will take time. We will merge our Human Resources departments to ensure excellent service for all our team members, but no timeline for this has been set.

For now, please continue to make use of current HR processes; you will be informed well in advance of any changes.

How can I learn more about EmpowerMe?

The afternoon of Aug. 29, you will receive calendar invitations for a series of Zoom meetings, where you will have a chance to discuss your questions with ONR and EmpowerMe leaders.

Over the next few weeks, you will receive additional information by email, as well as calendar invitations to additional Zoom calls. You can also submit your questions to EmpowerMe and ONR leadership using this form and get a response by email.

Day-to-Day Operations

Will I report to a new manager or department? Will our staffing model change? 

You will continue to report to the same person you do now.

As a result of this new partnership, we will be making additional investments in staffing and recruitment at many locations to increase access to care for our residents. Plus, EmpowerMe will offer new advanced training and promotion opportunities to help you grow your career.

What differences will our residents experience?

In terms of our day-to-day therapy services, our residents should only notice new benefits as a result of this new partnership. For example, over time we will begin to add additional team members at many locations, and we will offer new services from EmpowerMe to ONR communities and facilities. The ultimate goal of this new partnership is to further enrich the lives of the seniors we serve.

Will EmpowerMe continue reimbursing therapists for the CEUs?

Yes, therapists will continue to be reimbursed for their CEUs taken through CEU360.

Will the dress code change?

The dress code at ONR communities will remain unchanged for the time being.

What differences can I expect under the new partnership?

As our employee systems are integrated with those of EmpowerMe Wellness, we may experience slight changes. However, you will be notified of them well in advance, if and when they occur.

Will we be changing to any new technology systems?

ONR communities and facilities will continue to use the same devices and systems. If an ONR community is rebranded as EmpowerMe Wellness, the team at that location will transition to EmpowerMe’s technologies, which are similar to ONR’s. Plus, additional new systems may be added over time. All team members will be fully trained well in advance of any technology changes.

Will there be a change in COVID-19 vaccination policy?

The COVID-19 vaccination policies at ONR and EmpowerMe Wellness locations will remain unchanged.

Why are we joining EmpowerMe Wellness?

ONR is joining EmpowerMe Wellness to improve the lives of more seniors than ever before and to create new opportunities for our team members.

As you know, providing care for seniors requires our communities and facilities to offer their residents access to many different services. That can be a daunting process to manage. EmpowerMe can offer options to expand the kinds of healthcare services our communities and facilities provide, which will be a tremendous benefit for their residents.

At the same time, this partnership will give us the ability to create a wealth of new career growth options for our team members, including advanced training and opportunities for promotion.

How are our communities and facilities being notified?

We will be sharing the news with our partners as soon as we have had an opportunity to talk with all ONR and EmpowerMe employees.

What should I do if someone from the media calls?

This is unlikely. However, should it happen, these questions should be answered by a member of the EmpowerMe Wellness senior management team. Please contact marketing@empowerme.com, and they will respond to the media on the company’s behalf.

Why weren’t we told about this before now?

As you can imagine, there are many details to work out as a new partnership progresses. Discretion is important until all the specifics are determined and finalized. Now that we have reached that point, we are excited to share the news with our employees so you can be part of watching our two great teams come together.
