EmpowerMe Wellness Welcomes New Executive Leaders
New Chief Operating Officer and Chief People Officer to Support EmpowerMe’s Nearly 3,000-Person Workforce Amid the Company’s Rapid Expansion

NOV. 30, 2022; ST. LOUIS, MO – Topping off a year of unprecedented growth in which the company more than doubled in size, EmpowerMe Wellness — a St. Louis, MO-based integrated healthcare provider serving senior living communities nationwide — has named Kenneth H. Hannah to be Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Carrie E. Ward, SPHR, to be Chief People Officer (CPO).

The addition of Hannah and Ward to EmpowerMe’s leadership team reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting their nearly 3,000-person workforce as it continues to grow. With the acquisition of ONR Therapy last August, EmpowerMe has quickly become one of the nation’s largest providers of therapy for senior living. Today, team members provide therapy, pharmacy, and physician services for more than 100,000 senior living residents across 36 states and counting.

Kenneth H. Hannah brings more than 30 years’ experience to the role, having most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for Caleres. He has also held senior executive leadership positions in operations and finance for a number of fast-growing multisite companies, including The Home Depot, The Boeing Company, JCPenney, and General Electric.

“There’s a critical need for the healthcare services EmpowerMe provides to help seniors thrive in senior living communities, and that need is only going to grow as our population continues to age,” said Hannah. “As COO, one of my most important responsibilities is to make sure EmpowerMe manages its growth efficiently and effectively while remaining true to its core mission. That includes building systems and processes to ensure our team members get the support they need to succeed.”

Carrie E. Ward, SPHR, also has an extensive history of leading companies through periods of rapid expansion. Formerly Chief Human Resources Officer for GardaWorld and Chief Operating Officer for Major Brands, Inc., Ward’s expertise spans multiple disciplines. As Chief People Officer she will lead the company’s Human Resources and Recruitment efforts as it continues to add staff and serve more communities

“Amazing healthcare begins with attracting and retaining exceptional caregivers who are committed to their work and rewarded for their dedication,” says Ward. “To that end, it’s crucial to provide the best possible employment experience, from onboarding through retirement. Making staff feel valued, supported and appreciated   is my primary goal.”

“Our growth over the past year has been possible thanks to the tireless efforts and boundless compassion of every one of our team members,” said Josh Stevens, Founder and CEO of EmpowerMe Wellness. “We are thrilled to welcome both Ken and Carrie, who will greatly enhance our efforts to create the kind of workplace our employees expect and deserve.”
